Definitely the biggest surprise of the Serbia Open 2022 is the Greek international master Evgenios Ioannidis.  Today, in the seventh round, he outplayed the Indian grandmaster Harsha with white pieces and thus retained the leading position.  He has half a point more than his closest follower, another Indian Grandmaster Arjan Chopra.  Those two will play against each other tomorrow.

Among our players, it is worth mentioning the victory of Aleksandar Inđić, which puts him at the top of the table, then the draw of Teodora Injac, who is playing an excellent tournament, and the draw of Luka Budisavljević.  Ivanišević, Perunović and Damljanović played draws, and Ivić suffered his first defeat in the tournament.

A great victory was achieved by the young FIDE master Andrej Ljepić who celebrated with white pieces against the experienced grandmaster Miša Papa.

In the Amateur group, our best placed chess players are in a group with half a point less than the leaders.  Five players have 6 points each, and Pantelić, Živković, Dragojlović and Brajić each have 5.5.

The 8th round of the tournament is on the program tomorrow from 16:00.

Excitement awaits us tomorrow from 16:00, follow the matches live on the following links
