The 6th International Chess Festival "Serbia Open 2026" has entered its third day. After the first two rounds of the Masters section, the tournament has lived up to expectations, producing exciting and hard-fought games, while 32 players remain on a perfect score of 2/2. Among them are grandmasters Ivanišević and Damljanović, the tournament's official streamer Ilija Stanojević, as well as the young Luka Ristić, who has already demonstrated with his recent performance in Montenegro that he is making a convincing return to competitive chess.
The festival's blitz tournament series has also begun. The opening event attracted 150 players representing 18 national federations. After 11 rounds, Ethan Vaz of India claimed first place with 9 points, ahead of Mikhail Bryakin and Stanislav Bukreev, who both finished on 8½ points.
